Pistol Red Dot Mastery – 1 Day

Description

Red dot optics are transforming pistol shooting, offering faster target acquisition and increased accuracy—but only if you know how to use them properly. Transitioning from irons can be very frustrating and often times shooters are slower & less accurate with a red dot until they get professional instruction. Whether you’re transitioning from iron sights or refining your existing skills, this Pistol Red Dot Mastery Course will teach you how to maximize the advantages of your optic, ensuring speed, precision, & predictability. Beginners are welcomed to this class, but not first time shooters. You need to have a basic understanding of your pistol operation, some experience with drawing & shooting from a holster, & most importantly, be able to demonstrate a full understanding of gun safety.

This one-day course is designed for shooters looking to build confidence and efficiency with pistol-mounted red dot sights. Whether transitioning from iron sights or refining existing skills, students will learn techniques to improve accuracy, speed, and consistency. The class focuses on practical application, ensuring students can effectively acquire, track, and utilize their red dot in under stress. 

Students must have prior firearms training and a solid foundation in marksmanship, firearm safety, and gun handling techniques. We want to maximize time mastering the red dot with lots of shooting, not on beginner shooting techniques. 

Class Features:

• Cold Performance Assessment – Standard check of your current skill level with cold drills and evaluations.
• Marksmanship Fundamentals Refresher – Reinforce core shooting principles to ensure a strong foundation.
• Efficient Dot Acquisition – Develop repeatable techniques for quickly finding and maintaining the dot.
• Dot Tracking & Recoil Management – Understand sight movement and how to maintain accuracy through recoil.
• Speed & Efficiency Drills – Improve shooting speed while maintaining combat accuracy.
• Draw Stroke – Learn a more effective, draw stroke for finding your dot faster. 
• Not Dot – Learn what to do when you do not see your red dot.

Our Pistol Red Dot class is open to anyone 21 years old and up. Class starts with a safety brief & an inspection of each students pistol & gear. 

What’s included/What do I need to bring?

This class is at our outdoor tactical shooting range on private land in Escondido. We have tables, chairs, & a bathroom. Feel free to bring your own table and chair as well.

We provide:

• Targets
• Tables & Chairs

• Range Safety Officer & Firearms Instructor 

You Must Bring:

• Pistol with mounted red dot
• OWB or IWB Kydex holster compatible with your pistol. 
• Ammo 300 rounds (we can NOT sell ammo) 

Recommend you have:

• 2 mag pouches (can be rented)
• Eye & Ear protection (can be rented)
• Pants & Belt
• Hat
• Dress in layers 
• Closed toed shoes
• Food & Water
• Sunscreen
• Pop up tent/canopy
