Defensive Pistol & Tactics is designed for students who want to go beyond marksmanship and master the real-world application of defensive gun fighting under stress. This course blends pistol fundamentals with scenario-driven training. Bottom line, when everyone in the fight knows how to shoot straight, superior tactics win.

You’ll work through realistic defensive scenarios, including close-quarters, use-of-cover drills, use of doorways, post-engagement actions, shoot/no-shoot decision-making, emergency reloads, clearing gun malfunctions, & more. This class places a heavy emphasis on mindset, situational awareness, and developing the mental resilience needed to survive and win an armed encounter. This is still a high round count class, there will be no shortage of shooting.

Unlike Combat Pistol 1 & 2 style classes, this course forces you to dig deeper into the “Why” & “How”. It shifts focus from pure marksmanship reps, to tactical driven responses.

LOCATION: Outdoor tactical shooting range on private land located at our Escondido range. Address will be provided after registration.

What’s included/What do I need to bring?

If you have your own pistol and gear, bring it. If you do not, we have plenty you can borrow included at no extra cost. We have tables, chairs & a bathroom. See details below on how to prepare and what to bring.

• Range Safety Officer & Firearms Instructor on site
• Pop up canopy
• Targets (paper and steel)
• Tables & Chairs

Must Bring (you cannot train without these):

• Pants or shorts with belt loops and a belt
• Closed toed shoes

Recommended You Bring (if you do not have we can provide):

• Firearm
• 3 Magazines
• Outside or inside the waistband holster
• 2 mag pouches
• Eye & Ear protection
• Ammo
• Pop up canopy
• Table and chair

Recommended You Bring (we do not provide these):

• Hat
• Dress in layers 
• Sunscreen
• Food & Water (remember hydration starts the day before, not the day of.)
